David Bade
Momenteel is een interactieve installatie van David Bade te zien in
de Beurs van Berlage. De tentoonstelling:'NIET NORMAAL' loopt
tot 10 maart 2010.
At the moment David Bade is working on an interactive installation
at De Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam. The installation is part of
the exhibition “NIET NORMAAL” Held TILL March 10 2010.
"For the exhibition “NIET NORMAAL”(www.nietnormaal.nl) I am
busy at the moment with my Team Normalitairism on the location
of the Beurs of Berlage. In collaboration with ‘Niet Normaal’ and
the foundation SKOR (www.skor.nl) I am working every day with
my team, consisting of many students and professionals and
people from organisations, considered to be ‘not normal’ by our
pretty much narrow minded global standard vision, on a work in
process…most probably progress!"

Daarnaast werkt David Bade aan zijn overzichtstentoonstelling in
2010 in het Gemeentemuseum Den Haag en GEMAK, in Den Haag.
De opening zal plaatsvinden op 20 maart 2010. De tentoonstelling
loopt tot en met 27 juni 2010. Bij deze tentoonstelling verschijnt
een monografie met betrekking tot Bade's oeuvre. In GEMAK, een
instelling voor kunst en maatschappij in het centrum van Den Haag,
zal de sociaalmaatschappelijke kant van het werk van David Bade
worden belicht. GEMAK verandert hiertoe in een werkplaats waar
middels workshops allerlei groepen uit Den Haag (schoolkinderen,
bewoners van de Schilderswijk) samen met David aan een
permanent sculptuur voor het schoolplein van de Hofstede
Praktijkschool werken.
David Bade is preparing his big show at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag
en GEMAK in Den Haag. There will be a publication about Bade's work
for the occasion of the exhibition. GEMAK, centre for art and
society in the centre of Den Haag, will change into a workshop
where all kinds of groups of people of Den Haag (schoolkids,
inhabitants of a 'problem neighbourhood') will collaborate on a
permanent sculpture for the schoolcourt of a local school

Fendry Ekel
Fendry Ekel heeft een solotentoonstelling met als title:”Witness” in
het Museum HVVCA in Peekskill (NY). Bij deze tentoonstelling
verscheen een catalogus uitgegeven door Black Cat Publishing.

Takeo Hanazawa
In this exhibition, we present works from the last decade or so by
28 Japanese painters, such as Aida Makoto, Aoki Ryoko, Akiyoshi
Futo, Atsuchi Tomoko, Ikeda Mitsuhiro, Iwanaga Tadasuke, O JUN,
Ozawa Sakae, Kato Izumi, Kato Mika, Kusama Yayoi, Kurita Sakiko, Goto Yasuka, Kobayashi Takanobu, Sakamoto Natsuko, Sugito Hiroshi,
Takano Aya, Nakayama Reika, Nara Yoshitomo, Hasegawa Shigeru,
Hanazawa Takeo, Hamaguchi Sakurako, Hoki Nobuya,
Makishima Takeshi, Masaki Takashi, Machida Kumi, Murase Kyoko,
Mori Chihiro, who are active both in the country and overseas.
These artists are associated with a new wave of highly compelling
figurative painting that came to prominence since mid-1990s.

Van 19 februari tot en met 18 april presenteert
TENT. de groepstentoonstelling The People United Will Never Be Defeated.
Een actuele tentoonstelling rondom de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen van
3 maart 2010, waarin de verhoudingen tussen kunst en politiek kritisch
worden belicht. Kunstenaars zijn zich allang bewust van de
maatschappelijke implicaties van hun werk. Ook politici spreken zich
regelmatig uit over de rol van kunst in de maatschappij. Een zekere vorm
van sociale betrokkenheid is tenslotte in bijna elk kunstwerk wel vast te
stellen. In The People United Will Never Be Defeated gaat het echter niet
om de kunst die zijn engagement toont. Centraal staan kunstenaars die
nadrukkelijk, op expliciete wijze, de politiek als systeem aan de orde
stellen: het stemmen, de redevoeringen, de campagnes, het vergaderen,
de beslissingen.
Dicht op de huid van de politicus gaan ze de dialoog aan met de
gevestigde orde.

The fourth Artes Mundi exhibition will take place
at the National Museum Cardiff from March 11th
to June 6th 2010.
The shortlist for the foAurth Artes Mundi Prize was
announced by Viktor Misiano, one of the selectors,
on October 8th.
Tessa Jackson, Artistic Director of Artes Mundi
said: "The purpose of this Prize is not only to
recognise deserving talent, but also to introduce
a wider range of artists to the British art scene,
extending their reach and broadening our horizons."
